The amount of time we spend on screen these days has tremendously increased due to the set of events like- Work from home or even entertainment from home. Most of the times our eyes are glued to one or the other electronic device that leads to eye strain and eye issues in the long run.
Here are some exercises that’ll help to relax your eyes:
1. Near and Far Focus
This is an easy exercise that can be done both standing and sitting. All you have to do is put your thumb at a distance of about 10 inches from your face and concentrate on it for 10-15 seconds. Now, find an object at a distance and focus on it for the same time duration. Keep repeating and switching your focus from thumb to object. Perform this exercise five times.
2. Blinking
We keep staring at the screens and often forget to blink. Constant stares can weaken your vision. Blinking exercise helps to refresh your eyes and attain greater focus. To do this exercise, blink your eyes speedily, count 1-2-3-4, and shut (squeeze) your eyes lids, count 1-2. Repeat for 5 times.
3. Front and sideways viewing
Stand or sit in a comfortable position, take an object such as pen and bring it in front of your face. Without moving the head, focus the eyes on the object, move it away from the face, in the right direction. Now bring it towards your face and switch hands. Repeat the same process on the left side of the body. Repeat the procedure 15 to 20 times.
4. Palming
One of the most common and effective exercise that can be done anywhere. Start by rubbing your palms swiftly, close your eyes and cover your eyes with your palm. Repeat this 5-6 times for relaxation.
