Causes of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

The cause of NPD is not clear; however, it may be linked to a dysfunctional childhood such as excessive pampering, abuse, or neglect. It's also possible that psychobiology or genetics play a role in the development of this disorder.

  • Set clear boundaries- Doing so might disappoint or upset the other person but that's fine.  
  • Prioritize yourself- If you don't like any behavior they portray, say it on their face. Try to make them understand your point.
